calenders make great background for placing your model in a setting, ya have to get the lighting right to get rid of the sheen but it's pretty easy, been checking out every bodies great work and thought i'd mention it

just have to move things around till it's not in the picture Ralph , definitely do not want the flash goin off as the results look like a solar flare. got a good chuckle out of me with the puppy calender kyle, nice touch!

yeah... im a bit of a doofus sry (glad you got a chuckle tho) for a background i mostly use an old b17 kit box that i painted blue then added some desert effects on the bottom (as you see in most of my pics) i also have lately been using a white giftbox i added some gray haze too (in the m8 dio pics) and i tried the same gift box trick and added some "foggy pine foliage to the bottom" (some dabs of dark green) for this one something new im trying

thx shavebeard i just slapped the green on the backdrop quickly to see the effect (as my desert backdrop wouldnt have matched too well so with a little more effort itd probably look better never really put too much into the backdrop for pics but after seeing all simmo pics i can see it can really enhance (and even make) the pic so ill probably make more of an effort now

the last fun step in a project is putting it in an environment, just like a frame sets off a painting so too does the background for your model or dio. with the rise of the diggy cam it's got'n alot easier to do, man 35 mil. camera's suck't for me as the wait time killed me and i suck with a camera, lol.

found a good pic showing the desert backdrop i made (from a 17 box top) of coarse the calender idea is quite better but thought id share anyways and with it as a backdrop the kit is the gaso panzerfunkwagen conversion on the tamiya 232 oh ralphonso... perhaps a new category "converison kits"
