Hello all, Got this KT off Ebay and have started the build....not a bad kit....I really like the partial interior. Will have to add extra details to the interior based on photos I have of 1:16 scale version. Running gear from a spare Tamiya kit. Zimmerit Tamiya polyester putty....great stuff to work with. So far have added PE tools clamps....these really look great and lift hooks made from copper wire. Grant line nut wings and some chain to enhance the back end. Cool! Some day I hope to venture from my comfort zone and try the zimmerit. What tool are you using to form it??

Hi Steve,
I cut a piece off a razor saw with my Dremel tool and chucked it into a Xacto handle.
I draw the vertical lines with the back of a no:11 blade and then use the razor saw to rake the putty horizontally.
Creates a fine texture that I believe adequate for 1:48 scale.
Have a great day, PF

Hi kii908,
Yes, it is a Bandai kit in 1:48 scale. I chose to do this kit since it has basic interior that I plan to expand on and accurize.
The tracks and running gear are from a Tamiya KT but 3 extra links which were copied and cast, were needed to get them to fit on the Bandai KT.
I have done a little more work .... photos to come soon.
Have a great day, PF

Bandai made somegreat kits. I wish they would start that line back up. My first two Bandai tank kits were the M4A3 75mm and the mkVI tiger back in 1979. Loved the crew compartment and engine details. Could never get into 1/35th after that. Your King Tiger is looking good!
